Greetings, I hope you are all well. My name is Darrius Taylor and I'm immensely grateful for this opportunity of connection. I'm an autodidact, graduate from the proverbial "school of hard knocks" with a degree in Grit. In full disclosure, I spent 22 years incarcerated for a nonviolent drug offense and weapons charges. Although I am not proud of that admission, it's important I own it for the purpose of transparency.
I have been home for approximately three years. During this short period, I have retained full-time employment with a wonderful nonprofit where I serve as an operations coordinator. I recently married my high school sweet heart who faithfully supported me for over a decade of my incarceration. We don't have any children but we do have a couple of precious pets, two pups (Pippin and Oreo). Being that my beautiful wife is a high achiever who earned a promotion, we just relocated to a new state where we purchased our first home together.
Although life is good, I have a pursuit I need your assistance with. In order to compete in the Yorton Cup, the OCB super bowl of natural bodybuilding, I require around 3-4K I don't currently possess. So I'm going public with my ask in hopes of growing a community who will support my journey to the top.
Make no mistake about it, I'm a winner. I first heard of natural bodybuilding as a sport less than a year ago. I competed in my first show with a mere three weeks of notice, and won my division but failed to secure my pro card (which I didn't even know existed). With my second show, I came away with my pro card. However, when I attended the Yorton Cup, my third show ever, last year, I was humbled. I didn't get blown away, but I couldn't pose and therefore I was out of my league.
Now, I want to return and win! I have been training hard and improving my comfortability with posing for the past year and feel ready. The issue is, I need to qualify for the Yorton by competing in and placing top 5 within the Natural Viking, which I have scheduled for in mid September. The Natural Viking costed my 3K. Once I win it, and I will, I'll not have enough turn around time to afford the Yorton two weeks later. That's where you, my team, comes in the clutch.
What do you say to my request for a minor boost so that I can reach the podium and raise the cup?
