Darrick Johnson has been part of our staff at Touché for many years. Before serving up drinks here, Darrick was also behind the bar of the old Generator. This past April, Darrick was hit with a severe stroke but we are happy to announce he is battling back these past few months in rehab.
Soon Darrick will be leaving rehab to be with his husband Bill. To make this transition, he will need a a powered wheelchair and other devices in his new home. Our goal is to raise the funds to provide Darrick his own set of "hot wheels" and more to make this move.
Over his years of service in our Chicago LGBTQ+ community, Darrick has supported many efforts and community events. He was a major organizer of the Black Pride Picnic at Montrose Beach for many years. Darrick played in CSMA softball league and bowling leagues on both north and south sides of Chicago.
In our leather community, Darrick was a member of ONYX and volunteered at IML and other events.
Darrick has been there for countless others, now it is our time to step up and be there for him. Help us get Darrick home and on the go with a donation here.
