Help Darren With His Heart Attack Recovery
Donation protected
On Friday, January 7th, my fit, healthy eating, daily hiking brother suffered a massive heart attack. This guy with the biggest heart was in trouble.
After noticing his neighbor stuck in the snow, Darren, without hesitation went outside in the biggest snow storm of the winter to shovel his neighbor's car out of a snow bank. When he came back inside, just after removing his winter coat, he was hit in the chest, back and arm with tremendous pain. Because of his lifeguard/ski patrol background, Darren recognized immediately he was in trouble. He called 911 and sat in agony waiting for the ambulance to arrive as it cautiously drove through the blizzard. Scared for his life, his only thought was of the love he has for his teenage daughter, as he sent out a simple text “I love you!”.
Upon arrival in the Emergency room, Darren was given the lifesaving medication commonly known as the Clot Buster. Although delayed by the blizzard, Darren was sent to Saint John for a dye test of his heart. The Doctor’s found a 95% blockage that was compounded by a 4% blood clot. A stent was placed and no other blockage was detected. With the stent and cardiac rehab, Darren is expected to returning to pre heart attack lifestyle.
Darren is the nicest guy you know. Helping his neighbour … whom he has never met … he did without hesitation. He is always looking to help others, as his friends can attest. Now Darren needs our help.
Darren's cardiologist is expecting a full recovery but Darren is unable to work or drive for at least four weeks. His recovery will take some time and he has encountered some unexpected medical cost.
Let's help Darren with his recovery. If you are not in a place to give at this time, we ask that you please share. Above else, we are grateful Darren is still with us, with a bright future to look forward to. Thank you for all your healing thoughts and well wishes.
