Early Friday morning, my brother’s new condo caught fire on the very day he was supposed to move in. This is his first home, and instead of celebrating, he is now facing months of logistics, demolition and rebuilding before it can be livable again.

While insurance will cover a large portion of the costs, there are still many unexpected expenses ahead. He has already had to unpack and repack just to move into temporary housing, which meant getting rid of food, cleaning supplies, and other basics. When he finally moves back in, he’ll need to replace those essentials and rebuild the comfort of a home from scratch.

We want to make sure he can focus on moving forward and ease some of the burden that comes with a complete renovation. Donations will go toward:

Covering temporary living expenses so he can be comfortable while displaced

Helping him rebuild and design his condo with peace of mind

Replacing food and other household basics when he moves back in
