For the past 6 years, Darren has struggled with acute and chronic pancreatitis resulting in many ER and hospital visits. This year doctor’s determined that they needed to remove his pancreas because it was causing more harm than good. If the surgery is successful, his liver will take over as his pancreas. If not, he will be type 1 diabetic. His recovery will be slow and long and requires around the clock care right now.I decided to start a go fund me for my nephew because I know deductibles are high ($3500x6), many of the costs for the recovery are not covered by insurance and short term/long term disability pay is only 60% of his salary.
