I'm Darren, and I live in Lawrence, Kansas. I'm 44 with some physical disabilities (osteoarthritis in both ankles). I am also LGBT which, in Kansas, is putting me at additional risk.

On the 4th of February, I lost my job, working full-time at Kwik Shop. I was terminated for "working off the clock," which my manager had asked me to do on multiple occasions.

Since then, I'd scrambled to find work, and I just got hired full-time at a vape shop, where I make about the same. The only issue... I have a missing paycheck.

And the family I live with is threatening to kick me out very soon.

I have no vehicle and I don't know if I'll ever be able to afford one. I barely know anyone in town. Presently, I'm just terrified and do not know what to do and need a little leg up, and to be able to decide to leave the situation, or try to stick it out with that money.
