Help Darrel get treatment for Ulcerative Colitis
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Randy Eno. I am fundraising to help pay the medical costs for my friend Darrel
to receive infusions of Entyvio to treat his severe Ulcerative Colitis.
I met Darrel through my volunteer work as a Client Advocate at the Life Support Center at New Covenant UMC in Wichita, Kansas. The Life Support Center operates a Food and Clothing Pantry for the Homeless and underserved in the Delano district of Wichita. We also work with clients to improve their circumstances by seeking assistance, securing housing and helping them find employment.
Darrel has been incarcerated for most of his adult life after growing up in an abused home. He was paroled from Federal Prison earlier this year and put in touch with our Life Support Center. Darrel has made great strides and is living in sobriety while he seeks to build a new life outside of prison. He has applied for Disability Assitance but currently has no health insurance and cannot yet afford to pay for a policy. He joined the New Covenant UMC Church, was recently baptized and volunteers when he can at our Life Support Center to help others. Darrel recently started working part-time but is hampered by recurring flare-ups from his Ulcerative Colitis that can keep him from working for days at a time.
Darrel received Entyvio infusions in prison, which worked very well in controlling his symptoms. Unfortunately, the Federal Government released him without a plan to continue receiving treatments. We found a local gastroenterologist who examined Darrel and confirmed the need for Entyvio treatments. An application is being submitted to the drug manufacturer to see if they will help cover the costs of this expensive treatment. It is important to me that we find a way for Darrel to receive these treatments and continue his transformation to living a productive and responsible life in society.
The money raised will go into a fund to support Darrel's Entyvio treatments and other related medical expenses. Please consider donating. You can be assured this is a legitimate campaign, and your contributions will go directly to help Darrel get the treatment he needs. Thank You.
