Darla is my 1-year-old Rottweiler, and she means the world to me. I adopted her from the shelter where I volunteered because she was at risk of being put down. From the moment I brought her home, Darla has faced a mountain of medical challenges, including torn ligaments in both her rear legs and ongoing gastrointestinal issues, parasites and food allergies. Despite her pain, she remains my most loyal friend, always by my side and filling my life with love and companionship. Recently, Darla's condition has worsened, and she now needs urgent surgery to repair the torn ligaments in her legs. Without this surgery, she may never walk comfortably again, and the alternative is unthinkable. As a university student with limited income, I am struggling to cover the cost of her medical care on my own. My heart aches to see her in pain, and I am determined to do everything I can to give her the healthy, happy life she deserves. Dear community members, friends, and family, I know times are tough for us all. I had no business adopting a sick dog but all it took was one look into my eyes and Darla had my whole heart. Any sort of donation be it big or small would be an incredible help to us both. I cannot do this alone and your help would literally determine whether or not Darla got the chance at a long and healthy life. I just want her to be happy and healthy.
