Hi everyone,

My family and I are facing something we never imagined. My brother, Darko Božović, who spent his life defending goals for the likes of FK Partizan and the Montenegro national team, is now fighting for his own life. Darko has been diagnosed with stomach cancer, and our world has been turned upside down.

To me, Darko has always been more than an athlete. He was my hero growing up. I followed him to games, watched him rise through the ranks, and celebrated every milestone with pride. After retiring, he continued giving back as a FIFA certified coach, guiding young players with the same passion and heart that defined his career.

Today, Darko is in Turkey undergoing urgent treatment. He has completed two treatments so far and is scheduled for two more in the coming months. Each treatment is costly and the financial burden is overwhelming. His wife and two children are doing everything they can, but they can’t shoulder this alone.

Darko is 47 years old, and he has so much more life to live. So many more moments to spend with his family. So many more young athletes to inspire.

I am asking, from the bottom of my heart, for your help. Please join me in giving Darko the chance to become a champion once again, this time in the most important match of his life.

Moja porodica i ja suočavamo se sa nečim što nikada nismo mogli da zamislimo. Moj brat, Darko Božović, koji je čitav svoj život proveo izmedju stativa a branio i za FK Partizan i reprezentaciju Crne Gore, sada se bori za sopstveni život. Darku je dijagnostikovan rak želuca i naš svet se preokrenuo.

Za mene je Darko oduvek bio više od sportiste. Bio je moj heroj dok sam odrastao. Pratio sam ga na utakmice, gledao kako napreduje i sazreva, i slavio svaki njegov uspeh sa ponosom. Nakon što se povukao iz profesionalnog fudbala, nastavio je da daje svoj doprinos kao FIFA licencirani trener, vodeći mlade igrače sa istom strašću i posvećenošću koji su obeležili njegovu karijeru.

Danas je Darko u Turskoj, gde prima hitno potrebne tretmane. Do sada je završio dva, a u narednim mesecima očekuju ga još dva. Svaki tretman je skupocen, što predstavlja ogroman finansijski teret. Njegova supruga i dvoje dece daju sve od sebe, ali ovo ne mogu da iznesu sami.

Darko ima 47 godina i toliko toga ga još čeka u životu. Toliko trenutaka koje treba da provede sa svojom porodicom. Toliko mladih sportista koje može da inspiriše.

Zato vas molim, od srca, za pomoć. Pridružite mi se u borbi da Darko ponovo postane šampion — ovoga puta u najvažnijoj utakmici svog života.
