Help Darius & Jr. With Robbery Expenses

On Wednesday, October 20, 2021, my son Darius went outside to meet his mechanic who had come to do some repair work on his car only to find that his car, a 2008 Suzuki Forenza, had been broken into. The robbers tried to pry the door locks open, and with no luck on multiple doors, opted to shatter the glass windows in their attempt to break in.

 

Once the windows were broken, they stole all his paper documents from the glove compartment (registration & title of car), his radio and bluetooth hookups, ALL of his barbering tools, ALL of his school books and school kit, his son's car seat, amongst anything else they could take. They also damaged his gas tank, making the car unable and unsafe to be driven.

 

My son Darius is a single father of my grandson, Jr., who is differently abled and has special needs. Jr. had a doctor's appointment on this day (October 20th) to meet with a specialist in hopes of receiving a diagnosis but Darius had to reschedule the appointment, unable to get Jr. to the appointment on time, and having to handle all the responsibilities of figuring out what to do next regarding the damaged car: filing a police report, calling insurance to file a claim, calling the DMV to report and file paperwork...

 

Darius and his son Jr. live in Tacoma, Wa where we have no other family there for support. Darius has been working and is now enrolled full-time in Barber College while Jr. attends daycare during the day.

 

All of Darius' barbering tools and supplies were stolen out of his car, along with all of his books for school and his school kit. His car was aged (2008) and with the current damage - externally and mechanically - is no longer salvageable. He will have to buy a new car and replace his barbering tools, his books for school and his school kit given to him by the barber college, and purchase a new car seat for Jr.

 

This cowardice act of theft has left my son and grandson, Darius and Jr., at a great loss; especially in his care for Jr. Without reliable transportation to drive Jr. to his medical appointments, and to get himself back and forth to school, Darius will have a great burden of trying to get around town living in Tacoma, Wa without our family there to help support him.

 

I am creating this GoFundMe for Darius and Jr. to raise $10,000, in hopes that it reaches those who are able to help support my efforts to get Darius new, reliable transportation ($9k), replace his barbering tools + school books/kit+ purchase a new car seat for Jr. ($1,000), and replace any other stolen items, so that he may continue to provide for and be a great father to his son who so desperately needs him.
