Getting into college and making it through can be very challenging and difficult regardless of the circumstances. I am extremely proud to say that I am the 1st in my immediate family to attend and make it to the 3rd year. Starting in the fall I will be a junior at Indiana State University. I made a promise to my great grandmother before she passed to never give up despite how heavy the load may be, do my best no matter what, maintain focus, and dedicated my life towards obtaining a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
The challenges that I am facing seem to be getting greater and greater as the years of college continue. Although I am highly determined to finish it seems as though financial obstacles keep getting in the way. As of right now, all I have is faith. I am trying to tackle this one obstacle with very little assistance and it seems as if I am running out of resources. I really need some help which leads me to this, a Go Fund Me page. I have no other options or ideas and I have come so far I just can’t give up, I JUST CANT.
Being in school is the best thing that ever happened to me, it's molding me into the young man that I always dreamed to be. I come from a very poverty stricken environment on the west side of Chicago. Many of my peers didn’t make it out, are addicted to drugs, and many are not alive today. I want to continue being a successful black young man and staying in school is the only way this can be done.
This is a sincere plead for help. I am in need of $ 2,500.00 in order to remain a student at Indiana State University. I have no other resources, ideas, or outlets. Can you please find it in your hearts to donate, school is my life right now.
