My name is Darion Telp, a passionate student at Hampton University, where I am pursuing a degree in Sports Management. I firmly believe in the transformative power of education, and it's with a hopeful heart that I reach out to you today.

Embarking on my college journey, I was filled with dreams and aspirations. However, life often has unforeseen challenges, and mine came in a deeply personal and traumatic form. On October 6, 2022, in an incident that would forever change my life, I discovered my friend and floormate had tragically passed away in his dorm room. The shock and grief from this experience sent me into a spiral of deep depression, significantly impacting my academic performance.

Despite my best efforts, I fell short of meeting the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements, resulting in the loss of my financial aid. This setback has been a significant hurdle in my educational path. Nevertheless, I am determined to overcome this. This past summer, I took two college courses, earning a B+ and an A-, to demonstrate my unwavering commitment to my academic success. My efforts paid off, and Hampton University graciously readmitted me for the Fall 2023 semester.

However, another obstacle stands in my way: the financial burden of continuing my education. The cost for a full semester is $25,000, an amount that is currently beyond my reach. My family's financial situation, compounded by my mother's recent job loss, has made it difficult to secure student loans.

This is where I humbly ask for your support. Your contribution, no matter the size, will be a lifeline that enables me to continue my education. The funds raised will directly pay for my Fall 2024 semester at Hampton University. Achieving this goal is crucial, as it will allow me to reinstate my financial aid for future semesters.
