Help Darin Recover from Hit-and-Run Injuries
Donation protected
Darin was running errands Wednesday morning on his bike when he was struck from behind by a hit-and-run driver and badly injured.
He has a concussion, multiple broken bones, bruised ribs, sprains, and lacerations covering the right side of his body.
He was unconscious and carrying an American passport, so the ambulance drivers assumed he was a tourist and took him to the private hospital, from whom we will be receiving a bill shortly. We were able to get him to the local public hospital on Friday morning where he was able to get X-rays, antibiotics, and some anti-inflammatories. They also informed him he would need to go to the National Referral Hospital on the Mainland for surgery.
We need help getting him to and from the mainland by water taxi, then bus to the hospital, food, a hotel for the orthopedic consult and then again for the surgery itself.
We also need to repair or replace his bike so that I can run errands quickly as he can't pick up the little boys. Please share so we can get him patched up and holding his boys again. Thanks, everyone!
