Hello, our family has been impacted by COVID. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your donation. My husband Darin, my daughter, and myself were diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 02, 2021. It hit Darin the hardest and he got sick around July 24, 2021, and he ran a fever of anywhere from 100-103 for 10 days and during this time my daughter was sick the same time he was and I started having symptoms as well, I am rarely sick and rarely run a fever so on August 01, 2021, we went and got COVID tested and the next day our results came back and we all tested positive for COVID. On August 03, 2021, I caught Darin because he collapsed and he was rushed to the hospital where he stayed for the next 20 days. He was battling COVID Pneumonia and acute respiratory failure. During his stay, we could not visit and communication was very limited keep in mind that during this time my daughter and I were battling COVID at home. My daughter was extremely sick at home and probably should have been hospitalized but by the grace of God and many prayers she monitored her vitals at home and was able to avoid hospitalization. I was symptomatic as well but not to the degree they were. Darin's health during the hospital stay was covered in much prayer and faith in God. During the hospitalization, they moved him up to high flow oxygen and he was varying at high litres of oxygen, the doctor said that the next step would have been a ventilator. On August 12, 2021, Darin took a turn for the positive! He started improving and left the hospital on August 22, 2021, with oxygen therapy and home health nurse, physical and occupational therapist. After being home for a few days on August 28, 2021, the home health nurse visited and sent him back to the ER for coughing and losing his breath, He was sent back home that evening after a chest x-ray to recover. After an e vist with his primary care doctor, he was put back on steroids, antibiotic and a nebulizer to help. He is recovering but this is a process that cannot be rushed. Before this Darin was very active and a provider Darin is self-employed in the construction business and all emergency savings have been used. All donations will be used for basic living expenses such as utilities, insurance, medical needs, prescriptions, co payments, doctor visits, gas and the very basic living essentials to pay the bills during this very stressful and critical time. Please consider donating until Darin can come off the oxygen and recover fully so he can go back to work. This is greatly needed all Daring needs to focus on is his recovery and as a family, we can focus on helping him. Thank you
