Hello, my name is Bianca, and I’m making this gofundme for my wonderful partner, Darian.

This last year has been an incredibly hard one for the world, but especially for my sweet Darian. After finally finding a career that felt right, they had to leave it all behind after being diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) . This chronic illness created weakened connective tissues, leading to symptoms such as overly flexible joints, and fragile skin and blood vessels, affecting the joints, and even organs.

This has rocked our world as we know it, and Darian has spent the better part of this year in pain, out of work, and trying to find doctors to help manage this condition. I myself have been working a full time

job, and managing both my finances and some of my partners, but despite this we are struggling. Now, at the end of our year, Darian has found a wonderful care team, and is making slow and steady progress since their diagnosis! However, the financial situation is starting to take a toll on their recovery. I would be lying if I said it wasnt taking a toll on my mental health as well.

We are looking to secure safe housing, pay off any bills that have fallen behind, and continue to support Darian as we navigate both the bureaucratic hellscape that is applying for disability, while also the frightening reality that is the job market of today *Which is ESPECIALLY hard for a disabled person*

I believe that Darian deserves to rest and focus on their recovery after this last year. I have seen them in some of their darkest moments over this last year, and I have watched and held their hand as they look up a giant mountain covered in storm clouds, smile at me through tears and gritted teeth, and say “We can do this!”. Ive never seen such strength… and Im inspired to work harder and fight to advocate for them and all other folks who struggle with disabilities.
