Help Daria Fight for Her Life, A Girl Awaiting a New Heart

Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and compassionate hearts,

We invite you to support Daria Ioana Plesciuc, a bright and spirited girl who, at just 10 years old, is fighting the biggest battle of her life.

What began last June as a pneumonia diagnosis quickly turned into a nightmare. After multiple hospital admissions and uncertainty, Daria was eventually diagnosed with severe dilated cardiomyopathy – her heart is failing, and she is now on the waiting list for a transplant with yet unknown date

Until then, Daria’s heart is being supported by a mechanical device (VAD), keeping her alive each day.

But her journey has been long and painful, not just medically, but emotionally too. Five years ago, Daria lost her father to the very same heart condition. Now, she and her mother are facing the same heartbreaking battle once again. She had to learn to walk again, and her medical and therapy needs are overwhelming—both emotionally and financially—for her single mother, who has been by her side every step of the way.

Why We’re Fundraising

Daria’s ongoing care costs her mother over £1,000 every month, including:
£450 for physiotherapy (essential to regain mobility)
£100 for medication not covered by the healthcare
£120 for monthly blood INR tests, as she is on blood thinners
£200+ for hospital travel (6 hours away for specialist appointments)

Every pound raised helps lift the burden so her mother can focus on what matters most: keeping Daria alive and preparing her for transplant.

Current goal is set to £7000, but because this there is no set date for Daria's heart transplant, the costs might be higher, so the goal will be set higher to cover the ongoing costs.

A Community of Hope – Join the Hike

As a sign of support, a group of young people will be hiking Fleetwith Pike & Haystacks in Cumbria (trail link below) to raise awareness and rally support.

If you're local, join us for the hike! If not, join us in prayer, support, and sharing this cause.
We will share updates, photos, and a livestream (if technically possible) to bring the community into this journey.

How the Funds Will Be Used

-Physiotherapy & rehabilitation
-Medications & testing
-Travel to the transplant centre
-Ongoing specialist care

All funds will be managed by her mother and used solely for Daria’s medical expenses. Because Daria Iives in Romania, her Auntie Marina who lives in the UK will send them all funds donated through GoFundMe.

Let’s Carry This Burden Together
