Help D’Arcy 3 months following being electrocuted♥️

Donation protected
Hi, my name Leah Kelly and I’m raising money for my Dear Brother D'Arcy Kelly♥️. He was in a horrific accident on June 1st 2024 in Boracay Philippines. He was on the roof when he touched a guidewire cable that wasn't supposed to have any current. Unfortunately it did and he was electrocuted which flew him off the roof where he landed on more electric cables. He got electrocuted again when he landed. The cables ended up saving his life from a 27 foot fall where he only bounced his head off the road rather than a full impact!

> D'Arcy has suffered 2nd-4th degree burns on the whole right side of his body, as well as his right hand and fingers, both feet and chest. The doctot's are monitoring the entry wounds in the right hand and fingers and the exit wounds in both feet and toes to see if his fore-finger and toes are salvageable with or without surgery or if amputation will be necessary. He has a very long painful recovery ahead with months of rehabilitation. He will be off his feet for a minimum of 6 months while his body heals and he works to regain the range of motion in his body, hands, feet, fingers and toes.

> Please if you have anything to spare it would be appreciated!! If not, it would be greatly appreciated if you could forward D'Arcy's GOFUNDME post to as many people as possible. I thank you in advance♥️

> If I can please send out a special thanks to Brendan Green, Finn Ronne, and Karoline Rodrguez for being by his side and taking care of D'Arcy’s dog, Kraken. Also big thanks to Gord and Alan for their quick thinking in helping D'Arcy get medical attention!! I'm so grateful to all of you and the community of Boracay, you are incredible!! And lastly thank you to Aunty Mary xo

UPDATE On 1st June, 2024 D’Arcy was electrocuted twice and sustained serious burns to 35% of his body.

On 1st June, the day of the injury, D'arcy had an operation to try and save his left toe. His medical team also cleaned all his burns and tendons on the right of his body and hand, as well as stitched up his forehead from when he hit the road.

He describes the most painful part so far, in addition to the poor level of aftercare at the hospital, has been watching his toe die and having it amputated . D’Arcy also describes the the daily process of washing his burns and having the dead parts of the skin removed as unbelievably painful.

On Friday June 7th the decision had to be made to check out of the hospital, as the already high medical bills were getting out of control. The hospital bill for 7 days is a total of $8307, which is split into two bills: $3826.00 for the hospital stay, and $4479.00 for the doctors.

D’Arcy is currently staying as an outpatient in a hotel near the hospital, since he can't afford the hospital and doctor rates. Now he is an outpatient and they monitor him daily, which comes to a total of $117.00

We are nervous for tomorrow as we find out if D'arcy may need another surgery because he will be talking to the surgeon about his index finger because it's starting to go black and they need to revisit where they amputated his toe as there is black around that area on his foot as well.
We have had amazing support but we need additional funds to pay off the doctors portion and future treatments and cleanings.

D'Arcy is overwhelmed with everyone's generosity and we will keep you up to date on his recovery. Thank you all so much!! I would like to say a special thank you to Kroline Rodrigues who has been by his side and thanks to Brendan Green, Finn Ronne, Uncle Joe and so many others for all of their well wishes!
My condition update

It has been 3 months since the accident, after 6 operation, multiple doctors and two hospitals i am back home with my dog Kraken. Thank you to the amazing Karoline for looking after her for 2 months as she is a handful.

The right foot with the 2 exit holes is 80% healed and i can put pressure on it now.

The left foot with amputated toe has been a battle, finally started to close the wound and i will be able to start thearopy soon. I can now walk short distances painful but needs to be done. Phantom and nerve pain sucks but will go away with time. Hope to be able to walk the kraken in a month or 2.

The skin graft over the amputated index finger has taken and cast/splint is now off. I am in therapy every 2 - 3 days to try and get the movement back in my fingers, electrodes are used which messes with the brain as thats is how i got here in the first place so a little mental disturbing when they use it. Lazer and ultra sound plus paraffin wax treatment are all used to get the tendons looser and promote cell growth. Then joint manipulation for each didget on the fingers is not fun at all. Range of motíon is 5% to 20% at the moment depending on which joint. It will be a good couple months to get the tendons nerves and joints getting to their maximum range. Then i will know what my limitations are in life, i plan on having next to none.

I cannot thank everyone that has helped me het through this, we got a long way to go but there is a light at the end of the tunnel now. Freinds & family from back home, around the world and on Boracay. None of this would be possible with out your help and generosity.

All i have to do now is get through the next couple months of physiotherapy and do a lot of home therapy to get back to leading a healthy and productive life. I will have to continue with hired help to get through the next 3-5 months then i have to be able to do everyday chores by my self and get on with it.

2nd chances dont come along often so i will do my best to make the most out of the one i have been given.

Xoxo
