This is my oldest daughter Darby (and her faithful pup Benny)! When she was young, we called her Darlin’ Little Darby…and she’s still that sweet little girl to me.
Darby has endured a tortuous medical journey that, in the last 3 years, has led her and her husband Brendan through very trying times. Despite the pain, tests, surgery, and uncertainty, Darby has remained hopeful, trusting the Lord and been an encouragement to those who know and love her.
By being their own advocates and seeking the most current research into Ehlers Danlos, Darby and Brendan have finally found the diagnoses that have left her unable to work and hovering at 92 pounds with severe pain every time she eats.
Darby has SMAS and MALS vein compression syndromes which require intricate surgery in hopes of restoring her health. This is all detailed in Darby’s blog, which I hope you will read and share! She hopes the blog will encourage others!
Many of you have prayed Darby to this point and for that we are eternally grateful. All we truly covet are your prayers.
However, many friends and family have asked for a way to further support Darby and Brendan in this journey, so we have dedicated this fund to lighten the financial load for them.
The upcoming surgery requires an upfront payment of $25,000. Additionally, they have incurred expenses for flights and minimally a month’s stay in California, to total approximately $10,000.
While our family is more than willing to assume this burden, your support would surely be a blessing to Darby and Brendan. Past and future medical costs are also substantial.
Most valuable to us are your prayers. Please pray for a successful surgery June 17 and a full recovery in the months after.
On behalf of our entire family, I thank you for your prayers and continued support.
We believe:
“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.”
