Help Us Give Daphne the Surgery She Needs
Dear friends and animal lovers,
Today, I'm reaching out with a heavy heart to share Daphne's story and ask for your support.
A year ago, we adopted Daphne, a sweet rescue pittie who has brought so much joy into my life. Unfortunately, after bringing her home, we discovered that she has an underlying medical condition that was not disclosed at the time of adoption. Despite being a responsible pet owner with insurance for all my pets, Daphne's condition is considered preexisting and is not covered
Daphne needs corrective surgery that can only be performed by a specialist in Red Bank, and the estimated cost is between $4,500 and $5,500. Many have asked why I didn’t approach the rescue for assistance, and the answer is simple: I don’t want to jeopardize their ability to help other animals in need. As a rescuer myself, I understand how tight funds are, and I refuse to take away from their mission to save more pets.
I know that some would have returned Daphne to the rescue, but I couldn't do that. Our wonderful vet suspects that Daphne may have been abandoned due to her incontinence, and I want to give her the chance she deserves. While her condition isn't causing her pain, it does affect her quality of life — and mine as well.
I’ve tried to plan ways to cover the surgery, but with one financial crisis after another, it’s been nearly impossible to save up. I absolutely hate asking for help, but I’ve reached a point where I need to put Daphne’s well-being first.
If you can find it in your heart to help, I’ve set up a GoFundMe to raise the funds for her surgery. Every little bit helps, and if you’re unable to donate, sharing this post would mean the world to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read Daphne’s story. Your support, whether through donations or sharing, can make a significant difference in her life.
With gratitude,
Cherie
