Help Danya Fight CRPS and Reclaim
Her Life!
Never in a million years did I think I’d be here—reaching out to not only my friends and family, but to strangers—with my head bowed in pain and prayer. But here I am, ready to share my story in hopes that you can help me find my way back to life.
My name is Danya, and I have Complex Regional Pain Complex (CRPS). CRPS is a debilitating neurological condition often referred to as “the suicide disease” due to the relentless, unbearable pain it causes. There is no cure… but there is hope. And that hope is what I’m clinging to today.
Up until December 2024, I was living my best life. I had my dream job as a personal trainer, an amazing partner, two brilliant daughters making their mark on the world, and a rock-solid support system in my family. I felt strong, alive, and full of purpose.
Then everything changed.
It started with what seemed like a serious, but manageable injury: bilateral proximal hamstring tendon tears. I followed doctor’s orders— rest, rest, and then physical therspy—but the pain didn’t just persist... it got worse. Unimaginably worse. By July 2025, I was practically bedridden and was diagnosed with CRPS.
For those who don't know, CRPS is a rare neurological condition where the nervous system essentially goes haywire after an injury, sending constant pain signals to the brain—even when there’s no injury left. The pain is often compared to the feeling of having a limb amputated without anesthesia. It's relentless, and in my case, it's spreading.
Now, my days revolve around pain management. My once active life has become a cycle of medications, topical creams, doctor appointments, ER visits, and being physically dependent on others to do basic things like getting dressed. I have attempted and failed all traditional treatments like nerve blocks, ketamine infusions and a spinal cord stimulator. Pain medications are no longer working very well. Not only that but the pain has spread from just my glutes to my entire body from the shoulders down to my feet. Until recently I felt completely hopeless.
But… thankfully there is hope.
I’ve found a specialized clinic offering neuromuscular re-education—an innovative approach designed to retrain the nervous system, targeting the root cause rather than covering up symptoms. These treatments have shown promise in putting CRPS into remission. Unfortunately—they’re not covered by insurance.
That’s why I’m here, asking for your help.
I’m raising $60,0000 to afford this potentially life-changing treatment. I want to get back to my career. To walk without pain. To be the mom, partner, daughter, and friend I was before CRPS hijacked my life.
Anything you can give—no matter how small—will bring me one step closer to relief, healing, and hope. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing my story.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, for caring, and for walking with me on this painful journey toward recovery.
With prayers and graditude,
Danya
