Help Dante become the First!

Hi, my name is Mercedes Jennings and I’m fundraising for my son Dante Jennings so he can attend St. John’s Prep. My son is 13 years old and is in a his last year of middle school. He applied to St. John’s Prep in October 2021 after 4 months of intense study sessions on Saturdays and throughout the weeks leading to the TACHS (Test for Admissions in Catholic High Schools) for New York City students. When my Dante attended the school tour he was immerse with their drama programs that performs in an auditorium that can fit 2,100 people, the science classes that has a live aquarium to learn from, the opportunity to attend St. John’s University while being a high school senior, and most importantly the energetic and supportive student body and educators that makes this high school the perfect place for him to fulfill his dreams of studying science and acting.

However, the only barrier to Dante being the first in our family to attend a prestigious private high school is the cost. The tuition for this school is $9,995.00 annually plus $1,000.00 for activities, books, and uniforms. For this reason I am asking for your support and generosity in helping me raise $50,000 to cover his upcoming four years in St. John’s Prep.

After watching my son spend his last four months of 6th grade and his entire 7th grade year in front of a screen, away from all his friends, and away from the normal day-to-day school environment because of the tolls of the pandemic; I think that giving him the ability to attend St. John’s Prep also gives him something he missed these two years—a real high school experience!
