I want to apologize for not updating this page as I had intended. This journey has been filled with obstacles and it’s been very difficult to find the right words.
On Sept 4, 2025 Dan passed away surrounded by family after his 114 day fight in the ICU battling a severe infection.
As you can imagine, this has been an incredibly stressful and heart-wrenching time for my sister, nieces, and our families.
A giant thank you to all who have reached out asking for ways to help.
Contributions to this fund help ease some of the financial strain that comes with such a significant medical crisis and unimaginable loss.
Thank you to everyone who has helped support my sister and precious nieces during this time.
Please know that Tarah and family appreciate all of the kind words, prayers, and support.
Please feel free to share this link.
Thank you again,
Brooke

Last Tuesday was the beginning of a real-life nightmare for my sister and her family. My brother-in-law Dan was rushed to Hennepin County Medical Center with an extremely rare, extremely aggressive bacterial infection called necrotizing fasciitis.

Dan is currently in the ICU at HCMC and has already had multiple surgeries with more to
come. We still do not know how long he will be there or what the road ahead looks like, but we are very confident that he is at the best place possible with the best care.
I have no doubt that he is determined to get home to his girls as soon as possible.

This is going to be a very long journey and there are so many questions that we don’t have answers to. Our main focus right now is getting this infection under control and out of his body so that he can begin healing and get home where he belongs.

Because of his critical state, Tarah has not been able to answer all of her messages but wants you to know that she appreciates them and asks for continued prayers as she navigates everything.

I will do my best to update; thank you for supporting Dan, Tarah, and their sweet little girls during this horrific time. It truly takes a village.
