Help Danny who's severely handicapped.
Hi,
I'm Danny Anderson aka DJ dAndroid, I suspect anyone who sees this knows me. March is Multiple Sclerosis Awareness month, & March 19th is my 50th birthday. (Snuck up on me too!)
For about 4 years I've struggled with MS. It took over a year of constant testing for my final diagnoses. In the words of my Neurologist, I have "the rarest & the worst" form of MS. It's Progressive so in only a few years, I've gone from a cane, to a walker, then to a wheelchair. It's doing fun things like bending my feet inwards, & bending my spine. I haven't been able to work for a couple of years, I was sad to leave social work behind after approximately 15 years, but I've been on Assisted Income for the Severely Handicapped for a couple of years. It amounts to far under minimum wage.
It took forever for "my" chair to arrive. Meanwhile for 8-ish months I had a loaner, which was broken & made me fall. I finally just got my new chair (black of course), & after insurance I had to pay almost $600! I'm waiting for my needed hospital bed, (adjustable and with rails). The cheapest is $1800, & after fighting with insurance a huge chunk will be mine.
I'm not holding my breath for the amount listed. But anything helps & I am grateful! Maybe I'll see you around a real dancefloor again if there's to be a post-Covid, or I may DJ online if I successfully fight my depression & my broken laptop (for it's music library).
Peace out, I love you,
Danny
