Help Danny Overcome Cancer

Donation protected
Husband, father of three, CNA, Marine.

To our friends and family, thank you all so much for your prayers, love and support. You don’t know what that means to me and my husband.

Several weeks ago the doctors found a tumor on my husband’s left testicle that was bigger than his actual testicle. God showed us mercy with the blessing of Dr. David Greenwell and the Hill Country Memorial Surgery Center. They offered to do a radical orchiectomy to remove the tumor for free. It was going to be a $16,500 procedure and my insurance only covered $70 of it. Dr Greenwell offered his services free and at the last minute the surgery center called and said the use of their surgical place would also be free !!! What a big blessing this was for us. This enabled us to pay our rent.

This is kind of scary as the tumor was 80% seminoma, 15% embryonal carcinoma and 5% yolk sac tumor. There were no tumor markers in his blood so we had high hopes even though the tumor was malignant.

On November 26th, 2018 Danny has a CT scan and a chest X Ray. Wednesday he had his first meeting with Texas Oncology. The cancer has spread to his lymph node and lung.

He goes back Friday to set up his treatment plan of BEP chemotherapy. He will need 3 cycles of chemo therapy. 5 days on and 16 days off. He will need to take off 1 week each month from work for his chemotherapy treatments. This will be done for three months.

Post surgery was rough and Danny had to miss time from work. Those of you who know me know that I’m selling bread to help with the costs. We’re both CNA’s so we definitely aren’t millionaires. But with working over full time myself I struggle to sell bread even part time.

I have already applied for every type of state aid there is and my application is under review. Although I fear they will deny Danny Medicaid. Our state never expanded the medicaid program. Our insurance doesn’t cover much. I don’t worry about clinic bills or doctor bills.  I worry more about being able to afford the pharmacy. He will need a number of prescription medications that our insurance just doesn’t cover and you can’t make payments at the pharmacy unfortunately.

We arent fancy people and we dont ask for much but rather how much we can give (monetarily or not).

We prayerfully and humbly ask you for donations to help us through this rough time. And if there is anything that we can do for you, please let us know.
