Meet Kim and Danny. Ive known my best friend Kim for over 30 years and Danny for over 20. Kim is an amazing person inside and out and Danny is an amazing husband and provider for their family. They share a beautiful life and loving home. There is just one missing link to their fairytale and that is the gift of a child.
Danny and Kim met in 1998 as two teenagers in puppy love and the rest is history. Ever since high school, all Kim could talk about was having a baby, and when she met Danny she knew he was the one she wanted a family with. They were married in 2009 and decided it was time to make their dreams a reality. Danny and Kim have been together for 22 years, and they have tried and tried unsuccessfully to have a baby. In 2017 they made the very difficult choice to begin their IVF journey. In the last four years, Kim and Danny have gone through countless, appointments, ultrasounds, testing, lab work, injections, upsets and tears. They have done 6 IUI's and 3 IVF's, all of which have failed. All together this process has cost them approximately $40,000 in out of pocket costs. This last failed IVF has resulted in the need for a 2nd Egg retrieval and while insurance helped cover the first round, they have now met their lifetime maximum benefit of coverage and will not be able to go through insurance. This was a huge blow for them.
I've witnessed Danny and Kim with my own children and others over the years. I would trust them with their lives. If there is one thing i am sure is what great parents they would be. They deserve this more than anything. I have personally helped administer injections to help with fertilization process and seen first hand the emotional and physical toll it can take on the body. Despite all these trials and tribulations, Danny & Kim continue to stay positive and hopeful and they want to keep trying which is so insiring. As I mentioned before the process is costly, and they could use all the support they can get.
