Fifteen years ago I met and fell in love with the man of my dreams, Danny. Thirteen years ago in front of friends and family we committed our lives to each other. After years of trying to conceive we were blessed with a son in 2016 whom we call DJ. We have very little extended family and were thrilled to start our own.
Last year, Danny’s kidney disease came out of remission and his kidney function fell quickly. He immediately started doing home dialysis daily. There have been many set backs along the way. Both Danny and myself have missed work/wages and accrued medical debt. However, the biggest set back has been Danny’s lack of energy and stamina.
However, this year we have received a Christmas miracle! Danny has a live donor match for a kidney and is scheduled for a transplant on February 8th! This is the best news we could ever receive, but I find myself anxious about what the future holds. We will need to be out of work for a considerable amount of time for the surgery and recovery. The substantial and overwhelming medical debt we already have is only going to go up. Anyone that knows me will understand how hard it is for me to ask for help, but for our son, I’m going to. Our son is thriving in his preschool and we love our home. I don’t want him to lose any of those securities. I am working as hard as I can, but I’m just not able to do it on my own. We have gotten this far only because of the support we have received from family and close friends. We just need an extra push to get to the finish line. If you are able, please consider making a donation.
All My Love,
Angela Winslow
