On August 15th, my sister Danni’s life changed forever. Her beloved husband, Max, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, leaving behind not just heartbreak but a whirlwind of overwhelming logistical and financial challenges.
Danni has always shown up for others — whether through her powerful statewide and Seattle advocacy work, friendships, or in quiet, everyday acts of care that never seek recognition. Now, she’s the one in need.
With no time to grieve, Danni has had to immediately face the daunting tasks of arranging a funeral, navigating the probate process, and preparing to leave the home they shared. Max’s passing has left many essential financial assets in limbo, while the costs of moving, legal fees, and funeral expenses continue to rise.
She is currently packing up her life and preparing to relocate back to Seattle — a move driven by both necessity and the hope of being surrounded by family and rebuilding in a supportive environment. But she’s doing this alone, without the kind of community safety net that we all deserve in our most difficult moments.
We’re asking for your help.
This fundraiser will go directly toward:
-Funeral and memorial expenses
-Legal and probate costs
-Moving and relocation support
-Transitional living expenses while she re-establishes in Seattle
Even the smallest contribution will make a real difference in helping Danni land safely after this devastating loss. If you aren’t in a position to give right now, please consider sharing this with others who might be.
Danni has given so much to others — let’s come together now to give her the strength and support she needs to start again. If you can take on the additional role of helpinge with this campaign, please reach out.
With deep gratitude,
Elayne Wylie
