Help Danna Tanner Fight Cancer!

Donation protected
Since the first part of June Danna has been on a medical-leave from work, due to major back pain. Even though her current pain was in her lumbar region, her doctor decided to do a full spine MRI, knowing she also has issues in her neck and mid-spine.

The results came back with Degenerative Disc Diseases with some spinal cord trauma in the neck. The radiologist reviewing the scan inadvertently noticed a spot in her lung region. He wasn’t sure if it was an imaging error, so suggested a chest CT scan to determine.

A scan was ordered and showed several nodules in her right lung. Biopsies were done, and a few days later, her doctor gave her the bad news: Stage IV Metastatic Melanoma. Talk about a plot twist.

(read more below)

Danna was referred to an oncologist who immediately scheduled her for a brain MRI and a PET CT Scan, to locate other possible metastatic regions in her body.  All of this happened within less than a two week time frame.

It's a small miracle the nodules were even spotted in the first place, and because of that initial back MRI, the cancer was caught really early. The rest of her scans came back CLEAN, with the only cancer being the nodules in her right lung.

The second piece of good news is that again, because it was caught so early, her nodules are small, and treatable.

Instead of Chemo, Danna will be undergoing Immunotherapy. This treatment isn’t as hard on the human body (which will allow her to continue with her back treatments), and she'll get to keep her hair!

Because of her early-diagnosis, her chance of survival should be  around 60-70% up to the 2 year mark. If she can make it to 2 years, her survival rate up to the 5 year mark should be around 95%. It's not often stage IV cancer patients receive such good news!

But with that said, it’s still a huge battle, no guarantees, and still a long haul to recovery – one she just can’t do alone. Danna has been incredibly independent– even making her own home improvements and repairs by watching how-to YouTube videos. But YouTube won't work for this repair.

Since she was already on medical-leave from her job before she was even diagnosed with cancer, she's already feeling the financial strain. She needs help. Not only to survive, but to hold on to the life she has worked so hard to achieve!

Your donation (big or small) will help pay medical bills and provide for some basic needs while she works on repairing her body.
