Hello my name is Jeimy and in February my brother Daniel was diagnosed with Leukemia.

Through many rounds of chemo therapy, and support from our family, my brother began feeling better and we were able to get him healthy again. Unfortunately his body is not strong enough to fight the cancer cells on its own.

That is why this month we will be traveling to Chapel Hill for a transplant. My brother will be receiving a white blood cell transplant from our little sister Teresa.

The transplant is not quick. The process will likely take 3 months.

The pre transplant process is a week long where Teresa will receive injections every day in order for her her body to make a surplus of white blood cells.

The transplant will take about 2.5 months where Danny will not only receive the white blood cells he needs. He will have his immune system stripped.

This has been a long year for our family but mostly my brother. Throughout this he has maintained a positive and hopeful attitude.

This money will help with Teresas medication while she donates her white blood cells because my brothers insurance will not cover it, and she is uninsured. It will also cover living expenses for my brother and sister for 3 months because he cannot leave his room in SECU housing while his immune system is down.
