Many of you know Daniel Sullivan from grade school throughout high school, others might know him through the Military, college, or possibly your friendly neighbor, but I knew him through it all from 5th grade through adulthood. Daniel was a "limited edition," like he said; Daniel was a happy and kind soul jumping at any chance he could to help someone. When I met Daniel in 5th grade, Selmer Middle School, he was always smiling, happy, and laughing; that laugh could change an entire room's mood. Daniel loved life; He loved fishing with his dad, spending hours of the day playing video games with his friends, and shopping with his mom to max out his dad's credit cards. Daniel knew from such a young age he wanted to make a difference and help people; Daniel joined the Military in 2009, right after graduating from McNairy Central High. He did what he loved the most, helping people and risking his life to do so wearing a smile on his face; Daniel was never a quitter. Daniel had faced struggles when he was hurt in combat; I think apart of Daniel never came home from overseas that day, but what was left did. Daniel recovered, but the PTSD was embedded in him from thereon. Daniel's life took many wonderful turns, but it also took the bad as well. Daniel's marriage fell through; he faced financial struggles, PTSD, depression, and no longer served. After some time, he found god, and things started changing in his life for him. Daniel went to the reserves and was back at doing what he loved, and he even enrolled in the University Of Tennessee College located in Knoxville, Tn. If you know Daniel as I know him, he was always laughing and being goofy, but Daniel also never thought he was smart enough to attend college. Daniel got faced hard times once more, but this time that extraordinary, positive influence, unique laugh, smiling best friend of ours lost his battle. April 27th forever be the worst day of our lives as we learned our dear friend has moved on to heaven and is no longer here. We will forever cherish our laughs and memories with Daniel as they are a true limited edition. We are asking for donations for Daniel`s family for memorial expenses, We will give an update on memorial arrangements when that information is available. We appreciate the understanding and respect for the family during this time. Thank you.
