Help Danielle Rebuild Her Smile After Surviving Cancer Twice
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Danielle, and I’m a two-time breast cancer survivor.
I was first diagnosed at 23 and again at 29, each time with a different aggressive form of breast cancer. After years of fighting, I was recently declared in remission — yay! But while I survived, the treatments that saved my life have caused irreversible damage to my teeth, and I’m now in desperate need of full mouth reconstruction.
Over the last 13 years, I’ve lost so much — including my breasts — and now I’m at risk of losing my smile too.
The damage from chemo and radiation has left my teeth extremely fragile, and I’ve already started the process to save my two front teeth, spending over $5,000 so far. But the real work hasn’t even begun. I need full reconstruction on my bottom teeth and part of my upper teeth. I’ve also been getting a recurring infection that needs to be addressed immediately — if not, it could spread and seriously impact my overall health.
Because I was so sick so young, I was medically retired and now live on a fixed monthly income. I hate asking for help — it feels like I’ve needed help for so long — but I truly have no choice right now. I’m trying to save one more part of myself before cancer takes that from me too.
I just want to be able to smile and feel confident again.
I want to eat without pain.
I want to laugh without covering my mouth.
I want to stop worrying about another tooth chipping — or another infection starting.
I don’t smile much these days, and when I do, it’s with my mouth closed. I miss smiling freely. I miss feeling like me.
If you’re able to donate or even just share this page, it would mean the world to me. Thank you for reading, for caring, and for supporting me as I work to reclaim something so small, yet so meaningful — my smile.
With love and gratitude,
Danielle
