Hello! My name is Danielle, and I work with Quantum Health, helping people on their health care journeys. While we all have a healthcare journey that we go through at some point in our lives, I have had a pretty rough time of it lately.
On January 20th, I had to undergo an emergency surgery for a perianal abscess. These are incredibly painful, and if they go untreated, they can cause you to go septic. I had had one before in 2012, in which Idid go septic, but I was able to pull through, which gave me the knowledge of what to expect this time, but anyone who has had it can attest to how difficult a surgery it is.
After keeping the wound clean and packing it everyday, on January 30th I had to go back to the ER and undergo another surgery as the abscess had come back. During this surgery, the discovered I had a rather large fistula. Because my surgeon did not want me to have a deformation due to a larger incision, she only was able to due a partial fistulotomy and would discuss future options.
In the meantime, I have had a seton placed (a rubber band to keep the incision open), a colonoscopy to rule out IBD (which I don’t have thank God), and on 3/31, I was supposed to undergo my last fistulotomy. Unfortunately, even though we tried our best, there was still infection present, so again my surgeon had to do a partial fistulotomy. Which means I will have to have another (hopefully final) surgery.
Unfortunately, this has been horribly costly and unfortunately it was more of an emergency than I was prepared to handle. I currently have over 4,000 dollars in medical bills, and that isn’t including the surgery to come or the one from 3/31. I don’t currently qualify for FMLA yet either, so this has been financially hard in a multitude of ways.
So, I am asking with all the sincerity in my heart that you could possibly consider donating today to remove just one part of the stress I have to deal with for this unfortunate bump in the road of life. If you leave any contact information I will send you a card in the mail. Please know you have all my love and I am incredibly thankful for it.
if you would rather donate on a different platform, my cash app is $cole530 and my Venmo is @cole530
