My name is Danielle, and I am currently a student in the UW Medex Northwest Physician Assistant program. I have always believed that healthcare should be delivered with kindness and understanding, and my own experiences as a patient have inspired me to become a provider who listens without judgment and offers comfort to those in need. I want every patient I meet to feel safe sharing their story and confident that they will receive quality care.
Before starting PA school, I worked as a phlebotomist at Valley Hospital for four years while completing my undergraduate studies at Eastern Washington University. My commitment to healthcare began even earlier, volunteering at Deaconess Hospital during high school. I have lived and served in the Spokane community for many years, and my goal is to continue giving back as a compassionate provider.
As part of my training, UW Medex requires each student to have a Welch Allyn oto-ophthalmoscope for our Basic Clinical Skills course. This tool is essential for learning to perform thorough exams in HEENT, neurology, and for clinical rotations in adult and emergency medicine. I had purchased a more affordable version of these scopes, but was recently informed that it will not provide the clarity or accuracy needed to succeed in the program. Unfortunately, after resigning from my job as a phlebotomist to focus on my studies, I am unable to afford the Welch Allyn scope even with student loans.
I am asking for support to help me purchase this required equipment before the fall quarter begins in September. Your contribution will directly impact my ability to learn, grow, and ultimately serve the Spokane community as a compassionate and skilled healthcare provider. Thank you for helping me take this important step in my journey.
