Hello! I know looks may be deceiving. My name is Danielle, and I’m an 18-year-old facing extraordinary challenges that no young person should have to endure. The purpose of this is to raise money for a car, so I can not only travel better, but secure a job, help myself have a place to lay my head just incase and to be more reliable. Since I was 17, I’ve been couch surfing, moving house to house, sleeping in hotels and sleeping on porches after being almost forced out of my home MANY TIMES. This sudden change also meant dropping out of high school because I had no means of transportation, including buses and trains.

Despite these hardships, I am determined to build a better future. I now have my Adult High School Diploma! I am also now a part-time student majoring in radiology and a part-time caretaker for my mother, who battles multiple sclerosis. These responsibilities leave me with no time to work enough hours to save for essential needs, let alone a car.

Public transit, my only transportation option, has become a nightmare. Sexual harassment is a constant threat, forcing me to take longer, more dangerous routes to school and while running errands. The unreliable bus schedules have already cost me two jobs, further complicating my ability to support myself.

A car would be more than just a vehicle for me. It would provide safety, stability, and a chance to maintain a job without the fear of harassment or delays. Most importantly, it would ensure that if I am ever kicked out again, I have a secure place to sleep.

I am reaching out to the community for help. Your support can help me secure a car, which will transform my life. It will allow me to attend school, and hold a steady job and boost my career. With a car, I can finally find some stability and security in my life.
