Help Danielle Fight Pancreatic Cancer

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Tara, and I’m starting this fundraiser for my mom, Danielle Kerr. Throughout this text, I will provide all of the information that I know and at the end, I will provide a TLDR (Too Long, Didn’t Read) for those who don’t want to read through the text.

Danielle is a beloved mother of three and grandmother of two. On her birthday this year, November 15th, 2023, Danielle went into the hospital. This happened while she was planning the funeral for her father (my grandfather, Bernard Fleischner) who passed away on October 4th, 2023.
Danielle missed the funeral that SHE set up for her father because she had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer the day before his funeral after being in the hospital for several days. She went in because she was in immense pain and had vomited.

My mother has had breast cancer twice already and survived twice.

It’s not fair that she would have to go through this again. We are heartbroken and I can’t imagine the pain and sadness that my mother feels having to do this not once, not twice, but a THIRD time. It’s not fair.

Fortunately, her prognosis is not horrible, considering the type of cancer that she has been diagnosed with. To anyone who knows anything about pancreatic cancer, it was caught early, and as far as we know, it has not metastasized yet.

When I saw her in the hospital, the final diagnoses that was provided by MyChart at Advent Hospital in Florida was “HEAD OF PANCREAS MASS, FINE NEEDLE ASPIRATION: HIGH GRADE ADENOSQUAMOUS CARCINOMA.”

All I know about Pancreatic Cancer is that it’s one of the worst that you can be diagnosed with and the fact that the doctors are hopeful means we should all be hopeful.

Here’s the kicker, before this diagnosis, Danielle lost her job. My mother does not have health insurance and CANNOT be treated until she does. The doctors recommend a very aggressive form of chemo to combat this very aggressive form of cancer and it’s going to suck but at least she can potentially survive.

THEY WILL NOT TREAT MY MOTHER UNTIL SHE HAS HEALTH INSURANCE.

I am not okay with this. I don’t know what’s going on with the insurance now but the longer we wait the higher the chance that she might not make it. I sit here crying as I type this and I’m obviously very emotional but I want to get this started as soon as possible.

The more information I have as time passes, the more I will continue to provide updates but currently, to put it plainly, we need financial help.

The out-of-pocket costs for Danielle’s chemo treatments are currently estimated to be around $52,000. But she cannot be treated until January. I am unwilling to wait that long and am desperate for help.

WE need help.

Me. My sister. My brother. We are not willing to lose our mother when hospitals are capable of giving treatment but refuse to do so until.

This fundraiser is not only for treatment but also to help her live comfortably until she is able to finish treatment.

I am doing everything in my ability to help my mom to get treatment and anyone that knows me or my mom, or anyone in my immediate family, knows that we do not like to ask for help, but I will do ANYTHING I can to help my mom get treatment and be able to live comfortably while she does.

I can’t do it alone, so we are asking for help.

TLDR; My mom has been diagnosed with PANCREATIC CANCER, does not currently have health insurance, or a job, and the hospitals will not treat her until she does. We are asking for monetary donations to help with treatment and basic living expenses.

Thank you so much for any help you are able to give even if it is simply kind words of encouragement.
