Hi my name is Andrea and I am making this on behalf of my aunt Danielle. Who really is more like a sister to me.
If you know Danielle she is the definition of pure sunshine and would never want to ask for anyone's help. But this is even more why we should.
Danielle has been suffering for years in and out of hospitals and doctors trying to find answers. Just as of late she finally has an answer but not one that doesn't come without its share of difficulties.
Danielle was diagnosed with Myelofibrosis (MF) and is considered and intermediate/high risk case.
Myelofibrosis is a rare type of blood cancer characterized by the buildup of scar tissue, called “fibrosis,” in the bone marrow. As scar tissue increases, the bone marrow cannot make enough healthy blood cells.
The only potential cure for MF is allogeneic stem cell transplantation. Although this transplant is the only cure currently her doctors are recommending against it to help give her body time to heal from prior procedures that could potentially affect the outcome of the transplant.
There are some new medications coming on the market soon that seem to be very promising in keeping up with her day to day life until her body is ready for the transplant.
Her blood cancer has made it so she can't work and has limited access to public places as her immune system is very compromised.
Her employer assisted insurance is due to end soon putting them now in an unfortunate bind when it comes to costs of living, medicine and necessities just to get by.
The funds raised will go directly to Danielle and Keith to be able to pay their bills, Keith to take time off work to be with her for appointments, blood transfusions, seeing her doctor in Chapel Hill which is 3 hours away and to ensure the last thing she needs to worry about is money.
Anything you can give will help our sunshine be able to be out in the world again.
Thank you!
