Help Danielle fight chronic Lyme disease

Donation protected
We have all been to the doctors to help us feel better, now imagine going to two years of countless doctors, appointments, and procedures and still not finding help. This is the situation my sister, Danielle DeGuerre is experiencing, living in constant pain with no help.

My sister is suffering from Chronic Lyme disease, Babesia, Bartonella, and Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). These diseases have robbed the joy from my sister’s life, at 26, she can no longer do the activities she loves like hiking and skiing. These symptoms have left her struggling just to get through the workday.

In the future, Danielle wants to enjoy eating her favorite foods, engage in outdoor activities, volunteer to spread awareness of Lyme disease, and to explore future career goals, but, without this medical treatment, these goals will remain unachievable for Danielle. Danielle wants to enjoy spending time with her family and pets again, without being in debilitating pain. Danielle is currently unable to enjoy any aspect of her daily life, with every day being a struggle to survive.

All funds raised by this GoFundMe campaign will be used to help Danielle obtain the needed medical treatment and help her at having a chance to live life without debilitating symptoms. Any and all donation amounts and social media shares help. Danielle and her family are grateful for the help in the effort to defeat these illnesses.

Daily debilitating symptoms include:

Severe vertigo and dizziness
Severe gastrointestinal problems
Inability to eat most foods (Severe weight loss)
Joint pain
Low-grade fever (101)
Pains that come and go in joints and tendons
Stiff, aching neck
Insomnia
Fast heart rate/disturbance in heart rhythm(postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome)
Mental fogginess, concentration issues
Numbness in the arms, legs, hands or feet
Problems following conversations and processing information
Severe fatigue
Excessive sweating
Cold hands and feet
Severe stomach cramps
Spine and back pain

Traditional medical interventions, such as, oral antibiotics are not working due to the chronic Lyme disease causing small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) to develop, which is causing antibiotics to not be absorbed. Due to this intensive alternative medical interventions are needed.

“ I only found out about The Stram Medical Center and the global Lymes alliance through my personal research and through support groups on social media. Without hours of personal research and social media, I would be still lost and with doctors that have no answers.

My Gi doctor and my primary doctor attempted to refer me to infections disease doctors covered under my insurance and I had 3 infections disease doctors turn me away.” - Danielle DeGuerre

The Stram Medical Center

“Our medical practitioners have participated in preceptorships through ILADS and are highly experienced through the many years of treatment with Lyme patients at the Stram Center. Together with their clinical experience, research and partnership with the scientific Lyme community, our practitioners have been able to formulate an effective and compassionate approach to treating Lyme disease.”

Treatment needed:

IV Artemesia: IV Artemesia is part of our Lyme disease protocol in the treatment of the co-infection, Babesia, which expresses similar symptoms as malaria. Artesunate is a form of artemesinin that can be given intravenously. Although oral artemisinin is absorbed relatively well through the intestines, peak plasma concentrations of IV artesunate are 4-5x higher while using less than half the dose of oral artemisinin.

IV Antibiotics: In order to treat Lyme disease effectively, in some cases, intravenous antibiotic therapy is required. This option may be explored by your practitioner for a variety of reasons including, unsuccessful oral antibiotic protocol, gastrointestinal intolerance to oral antibiotics, and/or presentation of extreme/severe symptoms. Your IV antibiotic regimen will be tailored to fit your clinical presentation and diagnosis of Lyme and other tick-borne diseases.

What are there medical conditions?
Stage 3: Late Disseminated Lyme Disease

Lyme disease can occur weeks, months or even years after the tick bite. The Lyme bacteria have spread throughout the body and many patients develop chronic arthritis as well as an increase in neurological and cardiac symptoms.

Chronic Lyme Disease Patients Profoundly Debilitated

Babesia (Lyme-related disease)

Babesia or Babesia-like organisms (BABLO) primarily affect the brain and autonomic nervous system. The first words that a patient with active Babesia-like organisms in their body might say are that they can’t focus or think. Babesia also can affect the autonomic nervous system, which is responsible for much of the “automatic” functions of the body, such as heartbeat, breathing, etc. Babesia can cause postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS); a racing heart at rest and/or an irregular heartbeat and heavy pounding heart at night, but the problem isn’t in the heart.

Bartonellosis (Lyme-related disease) is a group of emerging infectious diseases related to Lyme.

Symptoms of this disease include achiness and overall discomfort (malaise), fatigue, headache, and in some patients, fever. Symptoms include loss of appetite, sore throat, and weight loss. In some cases, chills, backache, and/or abdominal pain have been reported.

Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) is exactly what it sounds like: too much bacteria in the small intestine.
