Help Danielle and Justin with Post-Surgery Recovery
Donation protected
We’re asking the Guilderland community to support our colleague in need. Danielle and Justin Clements have been married for six years. Danielle’s husband Justin was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease when he was 19 years old, which has led to the need for a kidney transplant. If you know Danielle, you’d know that she is a generous and compassionate person who would do anything for the people in her life. So last year, she was tested to find that she is a donor match for Justin.
This November, Danielle will be undergoing surgery to remove her kidney, which will then be donated to Justin in order to save his life. The surgery and recovery will be in Boston, Massachusetts. There will be an extensive recovery period that requires both of them to remain in Boston so that Danielle can recover from surgery, and Justin can be closely monitored to make sure his body does not reject the kidney.
Because of their post-surgical needs, Danielle and Justin require housing that is close to the hospital, provides enough space for two separate caregivers who will need to stay with them, has two bathrooms, and allows for their pets Arlo and Twinkle. As you can imagine, this kind of housing, while necessary, is extremely costly.
Any money you are able to donate will be used to cover the cost of housing and living expenses for their caregivers and themselves during their month-long stay in Boston.
Your support is greatly appreciated. If you are not able to donate at this time, please consider sharing this with other members of our community.
