Daniel was in the hospital twice—once a year ago, and then for the entire month of February 2025, when he developed pneumonia that ended up destroying the lower half of his left lung. It will be months until he fully recovers physically. In the meantime, he continues to go to doctors’ appointments, coach gymnastics, and in his spare time, create amazing watercolors.

It’s a daunting and difficult time, especially with incoming medical bills, which he pays monthly.
