Hi, I'm Byron, the dad and grandpa. We sure could use your help for our son Daniel, his wife Steffany, and their daughter Mazy!
Urgent Medical Help for Our Daughter-in-Law & Family
A little over three weeks ago, our sweet daughter-in-law, Steffany, was rushed to the hospital by Tara in critical condition. She had to be life-flighted to the regional hospital in Provo completely unconscious, with a breathing tube and a medical team working to keep her alive. After hours of assessment, doctors diagnosed her with pneumonia, sepsis, and other serious complications. They told us she was the sickest patient in the hospital—and that if she had arrived just a few hours later, she might not have made it.
She fought hard through three weeks in the ICU, and just recently, she was transferred to a specialized respiratory hospital. The intubation tube has finally been removed; she now has a tracheal tube and will need to relearn how to swallow and speak. Her lung is still severely compromised, and doctors say her recovery could take several more weeks to months before she can return home.
Steffany is such a sweet and kind soul, especially when it comes to animals. Her dog Charlie and cats miss her terribly—just like we all do, and of course she misses them. She and Daniel live in our basement, and it’s hard not hearing her cheerful voice. Whenever she’d come upstairs to borrow something for cooking or bring us a batch of her famous chocolate chip muffins, she’d always say, “I love you guys” as she headed back downstairs. Her absence is really felt, and we just want to see her healthy and back home where she belongs.
During this time, her husband, Daniel, has been by her side, traveling over 2.5 hours each day with their 10-year-old daughter Mazy, to be with her. While his employer has agreed to hold his job for 90 days, they are not providing any income. The financial strain of lost wages, gas, food, and daily travel expenses is overwhelming.
We are asking for help to raise $14,000 to support Daniel, Steffany, and Mazy through this incredibly difficult time. These funds will help cover:
✅ Lost income so Daniel can continue to be there for his wife
✅ Gas and travel expenses for daily hospital visits
✅ Food and basic necessities for their family
✅ Future rehabilitation costs after the respiratory hospital stay
Our family is incredibly grateful for any support you can give, whether through donations or simply sharing this fundraiser. Every dollar helps, and every share spreads the word. We appreciate your kindness, prayers, and generosity more than words can express.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. ❤️. https://gofund.me/b242ca2c
