Help Daniel Smith with Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Early last year our Dad Daniel Smith was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. Which is a cancer of the plasma cells. The plasma cells are a type of white blood cell in the bone marrow. With this condition a group of plasma cells become cancerous and multiplies. This disease has damaged his bones, mostly his spine. It can also damage the immune system, kidneys and red blood cell count.
After fighting this demon for a year, going through many chemotherapy treatments, hundreds of doctor visits and thousands of dollars, he finally qualifies to do a stem cell replacement procedure.
While this cancer is not curable, this should improve his quality of life tremendously.
To do this procedure, Daniel and his wife Trish Hughes Smith will need to stay in Tampa close to the Moffitt Cancer Center for about 30 days. They have to pay out of pocket for their accommodations which will be a minimum of $100.00/night.
Daniel has always been a hard worker up until he was diagnosed and now he can no longer work. His wife Trish as a caregiver has to stay with him 24/7. As you can imagine, the financial burden this is putting on them is tremendous.
Our family would greatly appreciate any help you can give!
