Daniel has spent the last year courageously rebuilding his life in recovery and transitioning careers to work for the USPS carrying mail. Daniel has loved this new challenge and walks 10 miles a day delivering mail and packages through the Golden Valley USPS branch. He is a bonus beloved adult to his girlfriend Lauren's three kids and a huge source of support for them.
On Tuesday night, he was slowly making his way home after an almost 11 hour day working outside in the snowstorm when he was hit by an SUV on 94 and taken by ambulance to HCMC for a several day stay to start healing. His car is unfortunately totaled and he will be out of work for some time while healing from multiple fractured ribs, a lacerated spleen, and a mild concussion.
Let's help show him love and support as he heals and take one incredibly stressful thing off his plate, which is to cover some living costs while he's not able to work and help him replace his car so he has a way to get to work as soon as he is healthy enough to do so.
A note about Daniel's car: Sol Invictus ("the unconquered sun") was a red Honda Fit that managed to keep Daniel alive and we'll miss that scrappy amazing car.
