Help Daniel Recover From His Blue Ridge Fall

Donation protected
Hi there! My name is Alec and I am the brother of Daniel Tilford.
My brother has been suffering from stomach issues and was referred to UVA Medical School to diagnose his medical condition.

One week prior to his appointment to UVA, my brother and I attended Blue Ridge Rock Festival. My brother wanted to attend this festival very badly as it was the one last thing he was looking forward to before visiting UVA to be diagnosed.  Unfortunately at the festival, there was very inadequate lighting and many ditches that were hard to see. On the last day, my brother tripped into one of the ditches and his leg hit a rock. He had no drinks or drugs in his system to cause this trip. This formed a giant blood clot to form on his leg.
He was unable to get access to an ambulance immediately as people were leaving the festival since it was the last day. The event staff had to load my brother on to the back of a golf cart and drive him miles to where an ambulance could get him.

That night, he was sent to Danville Regional Hospital where they wrapped his leg, and sent him home and told him to wait for the blood bubble to pop on its own.

I picked him up from Daville the next morning and began our drive home to Warrenton VA. On the way home, his leg started to swell extremely bad and he was losing feeling in his foot. We stopped at Culpeper Hospital and he was admitted immediately into the hospital. They said if it popped on its own, he would have 100% died.
They did surgery the first day to remove the massive blood clot.
While at Culpeper, they found out he was having liver issues causing his blood to be thin and not clot properly.  They were unable to stop the bleeding in his leg. He has now been transferred to INOVA in Falls Church. It has now been over a month and he is still admitted into the hospital and they have been unable to stop his bleeding, reduce his pain, or find another way to help him.

He has had over 20 surgeries to either try to diagnose his condition or fix his leg and so far there has been no cure or improvement.

He has received his first bill from Danville Regional for over $3,000.

Daniel now is on short term disability from his work but still is running short on money for his medical copayments, rent, and other bills. We are asking for assistance in helping him pay his bills while he is in the hospital.

Once they are able to stabilize his leg, he will need to be transferred to UVA to assist with his liver issue but most likely will be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

Thank you!
