Help Daniel recover from a home invasion

I'm making this GoFundMe for my friend Daniel who lives in North Park, San Diego. You may know him as the charismatic host/server from City Tacos. Last Friday while he was in the process of moving out of his apartment and into a van that he had just purchased two days prior, someone broke into his apartment while he was taking a shower, took the van keys, and drove off with everything he owned inside. A police report was filed but there has been no progress so far. Daniel, along with his cat, is currently couch-surfing at various friends' houses while still working full-time (not at City Tacos).
The goal of this fundraiser is to raise money for all of Daniel's lost possessions- both sentimental and monetary. The van that was stolen was outfitted to accommodate Daniel and his cat living inside. All of his personal artwork, clothes, furniture, computer, camera equipment, childhood collectibles, and a locked cash box with savings- pretty much everything he owned- was taken from him.
The van that was stolen was purchased last week for $5,000. If this fundraiser meets the halfway mark, then Daniel should be able to at least replace the van or find alternative housing for him and his cat. I hope we can do more!
Daniel has been a warm, positive and engaging person in our community that has helped brighten the lives of many people- whether it be at his place of employment or just in passing on the street. Please consider helping this super awesome person get back on his feet!
