My brother Daniel Hope was riding his motorcycle back from meeting a friend, he was going through a solid green light and a person in front of him decided to make a left turn in front of him, the person had a flashing yellow turn light, so Daniel had the right of way.
The vehicle turned so close that Daniel didn't have time to react, his front wheel hit the vehicle on the right front, in front of the tire. His bike and body ripped the front bumper off and bowed the hood back, not to mention do enough damage to make the car not start.
That was the start of Daniel's journey though, almost instantly after hitting the car he was thrown out of his boots and into a telephone pole. A wonderful man who saw the wreak ran to his side and stayed with him until the ambulance came, helping anyway he could. From what that man told me, I'm pretty sure my brother died a couple times that night.
These are the injuries he has, they have actually found a few news since he's been in the hospital. He broke his back at is T3, ruptured aorta, which was the scariest part, multiple breaks in right hand, awaiting surgery, his left femur was shattered into multiple pieces, they had to rebuild it and screw it back together, the doctors said they would have to break his hip to put it back in, we're unsure if that happened. All the bones in his left shin were broken and some were showing, they called it an open break, they used 2 metal rods to repair that portion of his leg. He broke 2 bones in his left foot, 1 bone in his right foot. He also substantiated road rash, internal bruising and sprained left wrist. My 35-year-old brother loved to brag about never breaking a bone, well he went big. He has practically no mobility in his left leg. He'll need rehab and PT, but it'll be 6 months to a year before he's close to recovery. Thankfully many family members are showing up to support him.
I'm starting this fundraiser to hopefully help him cover bills during his grueling recovery. Any little thing helps, even supportive comments or simply sharing the story.
Thank you to anyone that contributes or shares. I know he will be so grateful for all the love and support.
