I am facing a critical time in my life as I wait for both a kidney and liver transplant. My MELD score is high, which means the need for a transplant is urgent and could happen soon. The journey has been incredibly challenging, especially with the uncertainty and the toll it has taken on my health and my family. In 2025, I spent 174 days in the hospital, and this year has already brought seven more hospital stays. Through it all, my family and friends have been by my side, offering support and encouragement when I needed it most.
The financial burden of this journey is significant. The funds raised will go directly toward medical bills, pharmacy expenses, and the many costs that come with traveling to and from the Medical Center—parking, gas, food, co-pays, and deductibles. These expenses add up quickly and can be overwhelming, especially as I focus on my health and recovery. Your support will help ease this burden and allow me to concentrate on what matters most: getting well and being there for my loved ones.
I am deeply grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey with me. My daughters, Denise and Judy, have been a constant source of strength, and my wife, Dora, has stood by me through every moment, no matter how difficult. I also want to thank the incredible doctors and nurses at the Methodist Hospital Transplant team, who have saved my life several times. I am also thankful for the continued prayers from everyone. With your help, I hope to get the transplant I need and continue this fight. Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support.
