Help Daniel Fight Through COVID
On Wednesday, June 9, 2021, my father, Daniel Chavez, went on vacation from Maryland to Colombia, Bogota. The second day he was in Colombia he began showing symptoms of the COVID-19 virus. The following week he was hospitalized due to shortness of breath and lack of oxygen. My dad’s health insurance was not accepted by the hospitals in Colombia therefore, he and I had to pay out of pocket every day while he was in the hospital. Due to the lack of resources in Colombia, my dad was not being given the proper COVID treatment he needed. My husband and I had to fly out immediately to advocate for my dad’s care, which was extremely difficult. My dad’s boss, Bob, arranged an air ambulance to transport my dad out of Colombia and onto American grounds. Bob has been a huge blessing and we thank God for using him to help us. Currently, my dad is at a hospital in Florida on a ventilator in critical condition. The doctors, nurses, and hospital staff are taking very good care of him and we are very grateful for them. My husband and I are also in Florida serving as his next of Kin. Due to present and future medical bills, upcoming utility bills, and possibly another air ambulance to transport my dad back to Maryland we are asking family and friends for financial assistance. My family and I are very thankful for all your thoughts and prayers. God is listening to all of our prayers and has truly done the impossible for us and we trust that he will heal my dad very soon. “For with God nothing shall be impossible” – Luke 1:37. Thank you in advance for all of your assistance. We love you all. My dad is an amazing father to Josh and I, father-in-law, son, brother, co-worker, and friend. My daddy is very strong and he is going to get through this with God’s help.
El miércoles 9 de junio de 2021 mi padre, Daniel Chávez, se fue de vacaciones de Maryland a Colombia, Bogotá. El segundo día que estuvo en Colombia comenzó a mostrar síntomas del virus COVID-19. La semana siguiente fue hospitalizado debido a dificultad para respirar y falta de oxígeno. El seguro médico de mi papá no fue aceptado por los hospitales en Colombia, por lo tanto, él y yo tuvimos que pagar de nuestro bolsillo todos los días mientras él estaba en el hospital. Debido a la falta de recursos en Colombia, mi papá no estaba recibiendo el tratamiento COVID adecuado que necesitaba. Mi esposo y yo tuvimos que volar de inmediato para abogar por el cuidado de mi papá, lo cual fue extremadamente difícil. El jefe de mi papá, Bob, organizó una ambulancia aérea para transportar a mi papá fuera de Colombia y en territorio estadounidense. Bob ha sido una gran bendición y le agradecemos a Dios por usarlo para ayudarnos. Actualmente, mi papá está en un hospital de Florida con un ventilador en estado crítico. Los médicos, enfermeras y personal del hospital lo están cuidando muy bien y estamos muy agradecidos por ellos. Mi esposo y yo también estamos en Florida sirviendo como sus familiares más cercanos. Debido a las facturas médicas presentes y futuras, las próximas facturas de servicios públicos y posiblemente otra ambulancia aérea para transportar a mi papá de regreso a Maryland, estamos pidiendo ayuda financiera a familiares y amigos. Mi familia y yo estamos muy agradecidos por todos sus pensamientos y oraciones. Dios está escuchando todas nuestras oraciones y realmente ha hecho lo imposible por nosotros y confiamos en que sanará a mi papá muy pronto. “Porque para Dios nada es imposible” - Lucas 1:37. Gracias de antemano por toda su ayuda. Los queremos a todos. Mi papá es un padre increíble para Josh y yo, suegro, hijo, hermano, compañero de trabajo y amigo. Mi papá es muy fuerte y va a superar esto con la ayuda de Dios.
