Hi Everyone. I’m Daniel McLean from Ithaca, NY, and I’ll be driving down to the Asheville, NC area during Thanksgiving week this year. I’ll be visiting some friends to help them with post-Hurricane Helene cleanup.

I am raising money so that I can rent a U-Haul and deliver much-needed supplies to the area. With the help of my local contacts, I have gotten good information on some local charities in need of donations. I plan to rent a truck, fill it with supplies, and distribute it to the agencies.

I work in construction and the energy field. I will be focusing on rebuilding and off-grid power. I have access to solar panels, batteries, and inverters, and will be buying gas generators and propane space heaters (winter is coming and the mountains get cold!).

In 2006, I did cleanup work in New Orleans and Mississippi post-Katrina. Basic cleanup and construction tools are like gold: bleach, spray bottles, contractor cleanup bags, saws, dust masks (mold!), and crowbars.

Please help me fill a truck with helpful things for our friends in hard-hit Western NC.
