My name is Jackie Stiegler. I am raising money for my brother, Daniel Barile, who is in need of a heart transplant.

Dan started out with what he thought was a heart attack. He was rushed to the ER, but they were unable to help him. His arteries were all twisted, and he was helicoptered to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, where he was in intensive care for 3 months while they figured out how to perform a surgery to keep him alive. They performed the surgery, and Dan was featured in the local newspaper where the doctors performed a surgery they never thought was possible.

Dan remained in ICU, has a battery-operated pump installed, hoses in his stomach that run up to his heart, and has to carry around 2 heavy batteries. The hoses continue to give him numerous infections for the past 2 years. Dan is maybe home for 5 months out of the year and continues to be in the Mayo Clinic. Dan's body has now accustomed to the antibiotics and has an infection the Mayo has been unable to cure since May 2025. They stick a vacuum in his stomach and flush out the infection. The Mayo Clinic will continue to feed him antibiotics through the PICC line and test him every week. Once a heart is available, they will helicopter him to the Mayo Clinic and perform the transplant right away.

I would also like to use the funds to build a new porch with a wheelchair ramp for my brother Dan and his wife Chris, who has been in a wheelchair for over 10 years now, as well as all other living expenses.

The funds raised will help pay for all medical expenses.
