Hello everyone! My name is Daniel Hernandez. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's of Music Degree at Sacramento State in Music Education & Performance, studying Classical Alto Saxophone. Afterwards, my plan is to pursue a Master's Degree in thoughts to become a Music Teacher/Director at the elementary/high school level.
This past December, I auditioned for The Blue Devils ‘A’ Drum & Bugle Corps on Euphonium, and was excitedly offered a first round contract! I was first introduced to Drum Corps International (DCI) in 2021, and ever since it has been my dream to march with a World Class Corps.
At such a competitive level of musical and visual skill, tuition for a group like this is very expensive. This past fall, I worked as a Music and Visual Tech at both Elk Grove High School and Roseville High School. Continuing into this next semester, I will be employed at Chipotle, and will be working with Elk Grove High School’s Symphonic Wind Ensemble to help prepare them musically as they have the opportunity to perform in Carnegie Hall. With this being said, this year’s tuition costs are $6,000, and I am reaching out to ask for your help. Drum Corps International is a governing body for drum and bugle corps responsible for developing and enforcing rules of competition and for providing standardized adjudication at sanctioned drum and bugle corps competitions throughout the United States and Canada.
